A message from the owners of Uptown Theatre - News you have all been patiently waiting for.

As most of you know, Napa CA suffered a 6.0 earthquake on August 24th and much damage occurred throughout the city and county. We hope as things are settling down, that for any of our patrons who suffered losses, things are getting back to normal for you.  Unfortunately, the Uptown Theatre was not spared from the shaking.  The City red-tagged us and it took a week before we could get in to assess the damage and start cleaning up.  In assessing the damage, we had a structural engineer do a thorough inspection of the building and it has been determined that the building is structurally sound.  However, we did sustain major damage to our historic ceiling forcing us to close the theatre for needed repair.  We will be scaffolding the interior of the theatre and plastering the ceiling and then bringing in artists from Montana, the Dakotas and Los Angeles to replicate the mural across the theatre.

Our major concern is for the safety and security of our patrons and the performers who frequent our historic theatre. In light of this, we anticipate that it will take us until the early part of November to bring our venue back to its original condition so that all who enter it, will again be able to enjoy the masterful performances of the artists we bring in.

Shows that are scheduled during the anticipated period we will be closed will either be rescheduled or cancelled. We are currently in discussions with the artists and their management and will let ticket holders know as soon as we do the outcomes of these conversations. We thank you for your continued patronage and look forward to having you join us again at our theatre in November.

Dear Uptown Friends and Patrons,

The 6.0 earthquake in our backyard early Sunday morning has left us all a little shaken. Thank you so much for your inquiries of concern and offers to help. We feel your affection for us and it is truly inspiring!

A big thank you to Central Valley and Golden State Lumber companies for donating plywood to our neighboring downtown merchants in their time of need, to PG&E for working day and night and for all the City Workers who have worked diligently in taking care of our town. The feeling of community is ever present right now and it is wonderful how everyone is taking care of each other.

Our historical gem held up remarkably well, but has suffered some damage. We will be assessing over the next few days what repairs need to be done and how long they may take. We hope to know more by the end of this week and will keep you posted via our website and Facebook page .

If you are a ticketholder for a future show, please contact us next week for any inquiries you may have.

Best wishes to you and yours and thank you again for your continued and most valued support.
