The Napa Valley Bistro – Classic American Cuisine with a twistExecutive Chef Bernardo Ayala and Chef Ernesto Martinez opened NVB in 2013. Their friendship and working relationship has been successful helping them stake a claim in the exciting and expanding culinary scene of the city of Napa all while sharing their enthusiastic version of classic and seasonal American cuisine “with a twist” of modern fare in a casual setting. Bernardo has worked for some of the best known restaurants in the valley, such as Napa Valley Grille, Silverado Resort, Domaine Chandon, The Culinary Institute of America and was for 11 years, the Executive Chef at Silverado Brewing Company. There he led them to be one of the first Green restaurants in the Valley and helped promote the sustainable food movement. Ernesto worked at Rutherford Grill and the Napa Valley Grille before being offered a position as Sous Chef at the Culinary Institute of America. He is also co-owner of Market in St. Helena.
